Jedburgh pool set to reopen after refurbishment

The Laidlaw Memorial Pool in Jedburgh is all set to reopen its doors on Monday, October 19, after refurbishment.

For the time being, the facility – one of only two independent pools in the Borders region – will only open an hour a day, from 5.45-6.45pm.

Manager Billy Robson said: “Swimmers will have to book slots, but it’s all to keep everyone safe.

“Our refurbishment is all completed, and we’ve got new unisex changing rooms with cubicles, and new disabled changing.

“There’s a new kids’ play area and we also have more showers.

“We’ve also done some work in reception, and we’re looking forward to welcoming swimmers back to the memorial pool.

“The new hours are in place so that we will be able to complete a deep clean of the facility after each use.”
