IN PICTURES: Borderers hail our working heroes and clap for carers once again

Cheers, applause, bell ringing and the clatter of wooden spoons on sauce pans could be heard across the region last night as the Borderers showed its appreciation for our key workers once again.

Hundreds of Borderers paid tribute to NHS staff and key workers for helping to keep the country running during the coronavirus pandemic, taking to their windows, doorsteps, gardens and balconies for a fourth time since the lockdown came into place, to thank those fighting the virus as part of the #clapforcarers and #thankyouNHS initiative... our photographer was over in Melrose, Jedburgh and Newtown St Boswells capturing, from a safe distance, residents there coming together to say thank you.
