Sunday belonged to the little ones as excited fans of Disney’s Frozen films donned their fanciest frocks to meet princesses Anna and Elsa and posed for photographs throughout the afternoon.

Youngsters, already beyond excited for the release of Frozen 2, which hit cinemas last week, helped count down as Anna and Elsa, known to adults as Emma Hunter and Cheryl Hume from Hawick events firm Prinsis Parties, switched on the tree lights.

Heart of Hawick operations manager Sophy Delavigne said: “We’re very excited about our festive programme at the Heart of Hawick this year, and the wonderful festive buzz at the event on Sunday was the perfect way to launch it.

“We hope this helps to make this Christmas an extra special one for all our customers.

“Our festive programme includes something for everyone, with some surprises along the way.

“As a charity, Live Borders aims to help our communities to be healthier, happier and stronger, and we hope that these events will bring happiness and a sense of community spirit over the festive season.”
