Four day closure of Jedburgh road lined up

The stretch of road will be closed from Tuesday, December 3, to Friday, December 6, between 9am and 5pm.

Pedestrian access will be maintained and the current one-way restriction on The Boundaries will be temporarily lifted to mitigate the impact of the closure.

Scottish Borders Council will have traffic management sentries in place at the top and bottom of The Boundaries during the works.

A spokesman said: “The closure has been communicated to the school contractor, BAM, who will be making what provisions they can to ensure that deliveries are managed around this.

“Every effort has been made to keep the road open during the works to date, however a closure is necessary for the final surfacing. It also has the benefit of allowing the surfacing works at the A68 junction to be done under two-way lights, minimising any delays to traffic on the A68.”

Widening works as part of the new £32m intergeneration campus at nearby Hartrigge Park began around three months ago at Waterside Road.
