Fiddlers set for joint gig

Selkirk's Riddell Fiddles are joining their contemporaries from America, Fiddle-icious in a one-off evening of international entertainment at the Victoria Halls, Selkirk, on Saturday, July 9.

The event is free, but there will be a donations box at the door, with cash going towards the Selkirk band’s youth group, the Bannerfield Buskers, and the town’s Repair Shop-inspired General Store.

The “Fiddlers’ Night Out” came about after the Riddell Fiddles were contacted by the Americans who were keen to collaborate.

Artistic director of the Stirling Bridge International Arts Festival, in which both bands are appearing, told the Southern: “We are so very excited to bring some of our festival participants to Selkirk for an exciting evening of fiddle music:
