It’s estimated that 200 of the 3,000 EU nationals living in the region are yet to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme.

Councillor David Parker convener of Scottish Borders Council, said: “It is only by applying through this scheme that you can stay and work here, so it really is essential if you plan to continue to call the Borders home. It is also important to remember that no matter how long you have been here, you still need to apply.”

Apply now through the UK Government website at www.gov.uk/eusettlementscheme, and, if you need any support, please contact the local Citizens Advice Bureau.
