Earlston Covid group activated

Earlston Community Council restarted the work of the town’s Covid-19 response group today (Monday, January 11), due to the recent tightening of restrictions in the region.

The group has released information on safely identifying volunteers.

A spokesperson said: “Updated flyers are being delivered to local addresses explaining that the confidential phone service will again be open to help residents from 9am-3pm every day except Sunday.

“There is now an 0800 009 6803 freephone number and all volunteers will be wearing a yellow community council hi-viz vest and resilient communities lanyard as official ID whenever they are out supporting our fellow residents.

“We’re asking everyone to share this information to help us reach members of the community who may not see it on the internet or use social media.”
