Borders Forest Trust’s free tree giveaway

To mark the organisation's 25th birthday and celebrate the 'Survivor Rowan' competing to be European Tree of the Year 2021, Borders Forest Trust is offering families, individuals or community groups the opportunity to plant their own trees.

The trust has 2,500 rowan and other native trees – including: oak, hazel, crab apple and birch – to give away.

Single trees or packs of 25 trees are available and all tree stakes and protective tubes (0.6m) are also supplied.

In order to apply for a pack, you will need somewhere suitable to plant them and permission from the landowner.

The trees need be planted before mid-April, so if you know of any suitable places and you're keen to get involved, contact: [email protected].
