Borders coronavirus death toll reaches 11
Three more Borderers have lost their lives to coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 11.
The latest daily update from NHS Borders, which takes Covid-19 figures in the region’s hospitals as at midnight last night also highlighted the fact that there are currently 28 patients who have been tested positive for the virus being treated across the local health board’s hospitals – down one from the previous day – with a further 24 suspected and awaiting results – also down one in the last 24 hours.
Of these. seven patients are being treated in ITU.
An NHS Borders spokesperson said: “We are pleased to advise that 10 patients have now recovered and been discharged from hospital.”
Figures for Scotland, and a wider view of patients who have tested positive for the virus in the Borders, will be released at 2pm today.
