NOSTALGIA: Broomlands Primary 2007

For the Tweedside school children won bird boxes from BBC Radio Scotland. Out of Doors programme producer Euan McIllwraith presented the 26 bird boxes to the school’s primary three class who in turn built them and placed them in their gardens at home.

School headteacher Gillian McKenzie said: “I was thrilled when we won the boxes - as was the class teacher Marion Haugh. She is very much involved and encourages outdoor learning and likes taking the children outside.”

Mrs McKenzie had emailed the Saturday morning show in a bid to win some of the programme’s hundred of boxes up for grabs.
