Night time callout for Eyemouth lifeboat

The trawler Bright Ray was towing the Stronsay Lad, which had suffered gearbox failure, back to port in deteriorating weather. The RNLI volunteers passed a tow to the Stronsay Lad to act as a brake
Just as all three boats were lined up to enter the harbour, the towline between the Bright Ray and Stronsay Lad parted, however, the skipper of the Bright Ray skillfully manoeuvred his vessel in limited sea room and successfully made good the tow again.
Working together, the Stronsay Lad, was then safely towed into harbour and made safe alongside.
Eyemouth lifeboat was then stood down and returned to station, an hour after the initial call.
