NHS Borders dealing very quickly with complaints
During 2014-15 NHS Borders received 227 complaints, up from 127 in 2010-11.
The figures also show that despite this increase, NHS Borders are dealing with these requests very quickly, with the majority (88.5 %) dealt with within the standard 20 day target. This compares well with the Scotland wide figure of 70%.

Hide AdJohn Lamont, Conservative MSP said this week: “Staff at NHS Borders are working very hard in increasingly difficult circumstances.
“These figures show that despite having nearly twice as many complaints to deal with, they are being responded to quickly and efficiently.
“However, the fact that complaints have been rising year on year and are 80% higher than in 2010 should send alarm bells ringing.
“It is clear that nurses and doctors are struggling to cope and need more resources. The Scottish Government must act fast and ensure NHS Borders is properly funded.”
