LOTTERY: Friend sure Hawick will benefit
Billy Hush, vice-chair of Hawick Golf Club told us: “Honestly the money couldn’t have been won by a nicer bloke; you couldn’t find a nicer guy more deserving of it.”
Billy and David have been friends through school, played rugby together and up to a year ago regularly played golf with one another.

Hide AdDavid has been suffering from a heart condition called Atrial Fibrillation that has prevented him from playing however in his prime, Billy said he was a fantastic golfer.
He said: “David’s been a member of Hawick Golf Club for around 40 years and was regularly out on the green.
“He was club champion several times so I’m sure he’ll be glad to get back onto the green soon.”
Speaking of what he thinks David will do with his winnings, Billy is sure that Hawick will benefit.

Hide Ad“Speaking as vice-chairman of the golf club I’m very hopeful that he’ll put some money into the club,” Billy said.
He added: “On a serious note he is a very sensible guy and I have no doubt that the economy in Hawick will benefit from this win.
“He is a Hawick man who has lived here all of his life and I’m thrilled for him and the town.”
