Legs and Co leave the competition standing
Despite a rather damp start to proceedings during Newtown Gala Week 1981, spirits remained high throughout the hectic proceedings, with all the usual events, including fancy dress and the It's a Knockout competition.
The Eildon Hill race was won for the second year running by John Foster, who finished in a time of 29 minutes and seven seconds, knocking four minutes from his time of the previous year. Not far behind was the all-new ladies’ relay team, Legs and Co, who finished in 33 minutes.
