Legion d’honneur for Selkirk veteran
Mr Henderson, who served in the Royal Air Force, along with fellow Normandy Landing veterans Colin Rae and Michael Garvey, were bestowed with Legion d’honneur medals by Madame Annie Burnside, honorary French consul for the South West.
The three veterans were led through the town under the banner of the Royal British Legion and played into the abbey by a pipes and drums group from Clayesmore School.
