Grahame hails bus service success

The X62 bus service between Melrose and Edinburgh, via Peebles will continue, following discussions between MSP Christine Grahame and Paul McGowan, managing director of First Scotland East.

Ms Grahame campaigned on behalf of constituents when access to the Edinburgh terminus was threatened last year.

After her meeting with Mr McGowan earlier this week she said: “I’m pleased to confirm that X62 buses will continue going into the bus station after the spring, so a real success”.

Ms Grahame was also told the First Bus connection to Borders General Hospital will continue, and Mr McGowan pledged to see if the Galashiels town service can be extended beyond Asda to the west end of Bank Street.

Ms Grahame added: “The company is also discussing with ScotRail how to further improve inter-connections.”
