James also presented Tom Gillie with his official certificate of service, detailing Tom’s achievements during his time with the RNLI. Tom began as a crew member in 1983, moving to Deputy Second Coxswain in 1991, before becoming second coxswain in 1994.

Tom served as second coxswain until his retirement from the RNLI at the end of 2014. During Tom’s service with Eyemouth RNLI, he helped save 61 lives at sea.
