Euan makes his West End dancing debut

Euan has become the 42nd actor to play Billy, on the Victoria Palace Theatre stage.

Globally, Euan, aged just 12, is the 115th boy to play the role professionally.

Euan’s dance training has taken place at the Morag Alexander School of Dance in North Berwick, the Dunbar School of Dancing in East Lothian, and as a Junior Associate of the Scottish Ballet.

He appeared as Percy in Matthew Bourne’s production of Lord of the Flies at the Theatre Royal Glasgow in June of 2014, and in the Scottish Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker in 2014/2015.

Longridge Towers pupil Euan was also in the child cast of Ballet Lorent’s Rapunzel at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre in 2014.

And now after 10 months of specific training for his new role, Euan’s debut as Billy at the Victoria Palace Theatre also marks his debut in the West End.

When he is not taking to the stage, Euan is also a keen runner and has even competed for his country in national events.

He is also a student of Shotokan karate and has attained his brown and white belts (3rd kyu).

Euan won’t be performing alone: he joins Brodie Donougher (12 years old, from Blackpool), Thomas Hazelby (11 years old from Doncaster) and Nat Sweeney (13 years old from Birmingham) as they alternate the title role.

The first UK and Ireland tour of Billy Elliot the Musical will begin in February next year, at the Theatre Royal Plymouth.
