Hide AdHowever, SNP candidate Calum Kerr, who chaired the Yes Scottish Borders campaign in the run-up to the Independence referendum, maintains it is too early and too close to call the result with an estimated four hours at least still to go.


“It’s really difficult to call this one. Back in 2010 our vote was 4,000, but we’re way beyond that this time,” he told us.
Timeline 11.09pm: For the candidates in the Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk constituency, the posturing is over and the waiting begins.
The first ballot boxes (90 of them) have arrived at Springwood Hall in Kelso and counting has started.
