Duns man leads way in growing businesses

A unique programme launched this week to help Scottish entrepreneurs to grow their businesses with world class training from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard Business School.

The programme has two strands, an introductory online course teaching how to put customers at the heart of a business, and a residential summer school.

Nick Meakin, a Duns-based entrepreneur and CEO of Aqualution Systems Ltd, who attended the pilot programme said: “Among other things, the learning from the course has helped us implement a more disciplined structure to how we approach and structure sales and marketing to give the best chance of success.

“I would certainly recommend the experience to entrepreneurs looking to take their business to the next level.”

The programme will involve participants following a free online MIT training course called Entrepreneurship 101 – Who is Your Customer?.

The aim is to build a community of entrepreneurs across Scotland, with support provided to those with ambition and potential for growth.

The online training course opens for entry on March 10.
