Two windows were smashed on the evening of last Wednesday, and postmaster Ian Carruthers says closed-circuit television cameras caught a group of nine boys and one girl there at that time.

“Police have been informed, and we’ve been able to give a very good description of the culprit,” he said. “This was purely vandalism, and they’ve made no attempt to break in.”

Police are appealing for witnesses.

A force spokeswoman said: “We are aware of the matter, and anyone who has any information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 610 of Wednesday, June 3.”
