Police following CCTV lead after Jedburgh shop burglary
Detectives investigating the theft of clothing worth around £8,000 from a Jedburgh outfitter’s last week believe the culprits fled over the border to England.
They believe two men were responsible for the early-morning raid at David Thomson and Sons in High Street.
Giving an update to Jed Valley Community Council this week, constable Fraser Mortimer said: “Two men have been caught on CCTV and a car has been seen going down the High Street and coming back.
“There were no police on duty in Jedburgh at the time, and by the time they got there from Hawick it was done and dusted unfortunately, but the criminal investigations unit are on the case now and fingers crossed they get somebody.”
Witnesses can still report any information by calling police on 101, quoting incident No 0292 of Tuesday, January 7.
