Pair in court again over £475,000 drug seizure in Hawick

Two men have made a second appearance in court in connection with the seizure of almost £500,000 worth of drugs in Hawick earlier this month.

Jevgeni Strelkov, 36, and Aleksei Golovan, 37, are both charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis and producing controlled drugs.

Those charges follow police raids at three properties in Hawick – in Rosevale Street, Duke Street and Princes Street – on Monday, June 15.

As well as cannabis with a total estimated street value in excess of £475,000, a four-figure sum of cash was found.

Strelkov and Golovan, both giving addresses in Hawick, made no plea during a private hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and were fully committed for trial on a date yet to be fixed.

They were both remanded in custody until their next court appearance.
