Melrose 32-year-old fined £120 for punching pal in face
Punching a friend in the face during an argument in Galashiels town centre has cost a 32-year-old man a fine of £120.
Andrew Atkinson, giving an address in Melrose, pleaded guilty to carrying out that assault on the evening of December 12.
Selkirk Sheriff Court was told his victim contacted the police to tell them he had sustained a minor cut to the inside of his bottom lip.
Atkinson’s fine was accompanied by a £10 victim surcharge.
