Man charged after vehicles damaged in Galashiels street

A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a number of vehicles were damaged in a Galashiels street at the weekend.

Police were contacted on Sunday, May 9, regarding vehicles which had been deliberately damaged in the Glendinning Terrace area of the town.

A 48-year-old man has been charged in relation to the incidents and is to appear in court at a later date.

Police Constable Callum Wood, from Galashiels Police Station, said: “We would like to thank the response from the community in supporting this enquiry. Reducing anti-social behaviour is a local priority for police in the Scottish Borders and we are committed to tackling the issue.”

Meanwhile, police are appealing for help after a maroon coloured Invacare motorised scooter was stolen from the Mayfield area of Kelso between 10am on Friday, April 30, and 8.40am on May 1.
