Hawick 69-year-old admits suggesting sex acts to boy of 14
A pensioner has owned up to making inappropriate and sexual comments to a 14-year-old boy in Hawick.
Desmond Cannon, 69, admitted offering to perform sex acts on the youngster and inviting him into his Charles Street home in Hawick on the morning of Thursday, July 9.
The alarmed schoolboy left the scene and told his parents and they then informed the police about Cannon’s approach to their son.
Cannon, a first offender, confessed to police officers that he had “made inappropriate comments to the laddie” and that he had been in the wrong, Jedburgh Sheriff Court heard.
Sentence was deferred until Monday, October 12, for the production of a criminal justice social work report.
