Galashiels would-be thief flees after being spotted in the act by householder

A would-be thief in Galashiels clambered out of a window to make his getaway after he was disturbed by a householder.

The incident of housebreaking with intent to steal took place at a ground floor flat in Talisman Avenue at around 12.50am on Saturday, March 6, when a male climbed through a window.

After being disturbed by the householder the intruder fled out of the same window.

The male is described as being in his late 30’s, white and about five feet four inches tall and of slim build.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a black jacket with a one quarter zip to his chest and was carrying a black rucksack.
