Lee-Paterson is understood to have owned a field at the farm and kept horses there with Turnbull, who gave an address in Meigle Street, Galashiels, visiting him.

Aberdeen Sheriff Court was told that Police Scotland and the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals launched an investigation after a tip-off.

Lee-Paterson and Turnbull have now been placed on the sex offenders register and are due to be sentenced on Friday, April 23.
