Galashiels-based man denies city rape charges

Kevin Turner, who gave an address in Galashiels, is charged with assault and rape to injury and assault and rape.

He faces a third charge of assault to injury with intent to rape as well as two counts of threatening or abusive behaviour and a sixth charge of assault to injury.

The offences are alleged to have been committed in the Edinburgh area last year.

Turner has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

When the case called at the High Court in Edinburgh on Monday, the preliminary hearing was continued until September 14.
