Galashiels 33-year-old fined £160 for issuing challenge to fight

Greg Donaldson pleaded guilty to committing that offence at Gala Park in Galashiels on June 25.

Donaldson, of Hawthorn Road in Galashiels, sent text messages of an obscene nature challenging an acquaintance to fight.

That invitation was declined, however, and the man asked to be left alone instead, Selkirk Sheriff Court heard.

Defence lawyer Robert More said his client had been reacting to something that had been said.

Donaldson’s fine was reduced by £20 from £180 due to his guilty plea.
