Louis Heatlie, 20, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man to his injury in Gala Park in Galashiels on October 6 by repeatedly punching him to the head and body.

He also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner near his Glendinning Terrace home on November 2 by damaging a car windscreen with a pumpkin, adopting an aggressive attitude towards two named people and kicking bins and a vehicle, as well as spitting on a police officer.

Sheriff Kevin Duffy adjourned sentencing for a criminal justice social work report and restriction-of-liberty order assessment.
