29-year-old charged over alleged double murder bid at Ashkirk

A man has been arrested and charged over an alleged double murder attempt in the Borders.

The 29-year-old, yet to be named, is due to appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court later today, March 10, in connection with that alleged bid to kill a 20-year-old woman and 19-year-old man.

The pair are said to have been left seriously injured by what was reported to be a knife attack at Ashkirk on Friday night.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman in the Borders.

"The incident took place at around 11.30pm on Friday, March 6, in the Ashkirk area."
