Council: planning decisions are reversed

Elected members have this week overturned four planning decisions made earlier this year by paid officers of Scottish Borders Council.

Applicants, whose bids had been refused by the officials using delegated powers, had asked SBC’s local review body (LRB), comprising nine councillors, to look again at their applications.

On Monday, the LRB reversed all four decisions, granting consent to the following:

Messrs Morgan Patnership for a new house south next to the Berwickshire Riding for the Disabled riding arena at Sunnyside, Reston.

Alex Wilson for the erection of a single 34-metre wind turbine near Clackmae Farmhouse, Earlston.

Paula Milanesi for the erection of a house at Pyatshaw Burn, Lauder.

Peter Smillie for the erection (retrospective) of decking and a balustrade at 12 Todburn Way, Clovenfords.
