Borders Police complaints lowest in the country

For the first six months of 2015/16 Police Scotland has received 54 complaints - covering 59 allegations - against officers.

That equates to 37.9 complaints per 10,000 police incidents - the lowest in the country. In the Lothians, the average was more than 43.

Chief Inspector Andy McLean has welcomed the figures - but said they wanted to reduce them still further.

Police Scotland say that the force aims to deliver “the highest possible standards of policing in order to keep people in our communities safe. If you feel we aren’t meeting those standards, you have the right to make a complaint.”
