Borders couple win £33million on Lottery

A couple from the Scottish Borders has won half of the historic £66 million lottery jackpo.

The rollover Lotto prize was split between two tickets that had all six winning numbers from Saturday’s draw – 26, 27, 46, 47, 52 and 58.

Camelot said one of the winning tickets has been checked and verified and the winners, a husband and wife, are to celebrate their success at an announcement in Edinburgh tomorrow (Wednesday).

New rules stipulated that once the amount went over £50 million it would have been shared between the next tier down of winners if no-one matched all six numbers.
