A7 reopened following lorry crash

The A7 is now reopened following its closure for most of the morning after a lorry jack-knifed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The incident happened at around 6.40am on Wednesday, November 23, when a HGV vehicle jack-knifed on the road.

“The driver did not sustain any injuries. The public is thanked for their patience.”

However, a warning is still in place as the cold conditions in the Borders this morning have led to ice on the roads.

The spokesman said: “Officers would also like to remind drivers to cut their speed when driving in cold conditions and adjust their driving accordingly.”
