500 cannabis plants seized in Selkirk

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers in Selkirk carried out a search of a property in Curror Street on Monday October 26 as part of Operation Borah – an ongoing campaign to tackle cannabis cultivations within the Lothians and Scottish Borders.

The drugs bust comes almost exactly a year after police seized 2,000 cannabis plants, worth £700,000 to £1.8million, from the town’s derelict Queen’s Head pub on October 28, 2014. Four men were arrested and charged.
