Teries rally round 1994’s Hawick cornet Robert
There was a full house at Hawick Town Hall this week in 1994 as the town’s annual common riding colour-bussing ceremony took place.
Hawick cornet Robert Pringle’s predecessors and principal counterparts from across the Borders filled the balcony at the venue for the ceremony while cornet’s lass Loris Szoneberg took pride of place as she bussed the banner blue ahead of the common riding weekend proper.
Due to the continuing coronavirus lockdown, there’ll be no such public display of pride and passion of Teries yin and a’ this year, but you can watch a virtual version of the event instead today, from 6.30pm, on the Hawick Common Riding website and Facebook page.
