NOSTALGIA: Kayleigh and her horse-mad youngsters in 2010

The then 17-year-old deputy head girl at Selkirk High School was heading off to do volunteer teaching in Sri Lanka during a gap year. However, the aspiring teacher had to first raise £4,350 in six months, so she organised a series of events including a charity auction, bag-packing days at a supermarket, a barn dance and pony activity days for youngsters at Broomhill stables, near Selkirk, where her horse Hector was stabled. Our photo shows Kayleigh with pals and youngsters at the stables. Send us your old photos at [email protected]
