Nostalgia 1994: Lauderdale JAC ploughs £2,000 into charities
Three charities found themselves considerably better off this week in 1994, thanks to the efforts of Lauderdale Junior Agricultural Club which handed out a total of £2,000 in donations.
At a presentation ceremony in Oxton Hall, £500 was presented to Carrick McLelland, left, Ettrick and Lauderdale council member for the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Fund; £500 to Borders Children’s Charities, accepted by committee member Louise Runciman, centre, and £1,000 to Marie Curie Cancer Care which was received by Borders branch president, Lady Minto, right.
