Hannah, who says she aspires to be the next Mary Berry is so thankful for the care she received during a stay in the hospital she has been doing what she does best – baking goodies at her home.

The 12-year-old’s mum Gemma told us: “Hannah has loved baking since she was knee-high and she loves the Great British Bake Off ... she says she wants to take part in it one day.

“She just wanted to do something to say thank you.

“She knows times are hard at the moment, and the ward may not be getting as much funding as normal, so she decided to put her baking skills to good use.

“She’s been advertising her bakes on social media to friends and family and delivering them using social distancing on their doorstep.

“Over the past week, she’s done Crunchie and Malteser traybakes, cheese scones, fudge and cookies.

“Her grannies and a few of the neighbours have been helping out by donating some flour. condensed milk and other ingredients.”

Hannah is in the kitchen today again, finishing off her fundraiser.

Gemma said: “Her goal was £50, but she’s gone past that to make £83, and she hopes to make it up to £100 on her last day today.

“She’s quite proud of it, and quite rightly.

“The only thing is that the cakes have sold so well, there hasn’t been any left for ourselves!”
