Success for NHS Borders at national health awards

A healthcare team and an individual from NHS Borders have scooped three top awards at the Scottish Health Awards 2015 in recognition of their invaluable contribution to Scottish healthcare.

Dr Fiona Hawke, superintendent radiographer, was awarded the Therapist Award for her work at Borders General Hospital. She has been praised for her efforts towards bettering the radiology service within NHS Borders and is described as being passionate, enthusiastic and innovative.

The Melburn Lodge Team won both the Top Team Award and the Care for Mental Health Award for their work at Borders General Hospital. The multi-disciplinary team provides specialist continuing care for patients with a diagnosis of Dementia with complex physical and psychological needs. The team works hard to ensure a high quality of care for all patients and has been praised for its compassionate approach.
