Three wards looking after coronavirus patients at Borders General Hospital

Three wards are being used in the Borders General Hospital to care for patients who may have contracted coronavirus.

A spokesperson for NHS Borders confirmed today that 11 people are currently being treated in the special wards, although of those, there are less than five who have tested positive for the virus.

The total number of positive cases for the Borders remains at 12 for the second day, although coronavirus has claimed two more lives across Scotland over the last 24 hours, with 16 deaths now recorded.

Throughout Scotland a total of 9,968 tests have been concluded, with 584 of them confirmed as being positive.
