Following discussion with NHS Test and Protect and the local health board’s public health team, the council decided to reopen the school today (Thursday), only to staff and pupils of Early Learning and Childcare 3 and 4, and primaries 1, 1 /2, 2/3 and 3 … unless they are a close contact of a confirmed Covid-19 case.

A spokesperson for Scottish Borders Council said: “All pupils required to remain at home will be supported with home learning and support will be offered to any family in need, including free school meals, which will be delivered to them at home.

“For the safety of those returning, the school has received a deep clean and has been fully sanitised.

"Enhanced cleaning will continued to be carried out on a daily basis and all Covid-19 guidance adhered to.”
