VIDEO: Tweeddale Blend whisky story


Alasdair Day, who has unveiled plans to open a small distillery in Walkerburn, inherited his ancestor’s “cellar book” in 2009 and set about recreating some of the blends Richard Day had made in Coldstream in the early 1900s.
Seventy years after his great grandfather’s production ceased, Day produced his first batch of The Tweeddale Blend.

Hide AdThe Livingston-based businessman has produced another two since then, and now exports to Canada.


He has been working with Edinburgh-based media company VistaBee to promote his product and was and was recently interview using Google Glass.
Google Glass is a wearable computer with an optical head-mounted display that is being developed by Google. The product is currently under research.
