Savills adds to Borders team

Real estate firm Savills is expanding its architecture and building surveying team covering the Borders with the appointment of chartered building surveyor Jack Thornton to the Dumfries office.

He joins Savills from Edwin Thompson LLP, where he was responsible for the design, build, maintenance and refurbishment of a wide range of properties across the property sector including commercial, agricultural and residential projects.

Richard Henderson, head of Savills ABS in Scotland, said: “This is a strategic appointment for Savills and we are very pleased to have him on board.

“Jack lives in Carlisle and is well placed to develop our architecture building and design business on both sides of the border. He has built up a enviable reputation working on projects as diverse as the construction of a family activity centre, the refurbishment of major retail outlets and the restoration of historic buildings.”
