A one mile map of mainland Scotland has been cut out in a field in Jedburgh ahead of a crunch match with England at Euro 2020 tonight, Friday, June 18.

It is the brainchild of John Henderson, founder of the Born in Scotland retail chain, and it is located close to the company’s headquarters at the town’s Lanton Mill.

Mr Henderson said he wanted to “create something fun” to celebrate Scotland’s participation in a major football tournament for the first time in 23 years.

The outline - which took two months to sketch out - covers about 1.5km (one mile) of the field.

The map was designed by Kelso company Landmaps and needs several hours of mowing a week.
