The former Royal Bank of Scotland at 11/12 Market Square in Duns closed in 2018.

An application has been submitted to Scottish Borders Council from Angela McManamon to convert the grade B-listed townhouse, which dates from 1857, into a residential property.

The plan is to accommodate a two bedroom apartment on the lower level, with six en-suite bedrooms on upper levels.

A statement from the applicant’s agent, Dunfermline-based Fine Designs, says: “All elements of the former office use are to be removed – suspended ceilings, lighting, partitions and associated utilities.”
