Coach has the key to unlock staff potential

The importance of personal development for staff and managers in the Borders is at the centre of Tracy Archibald’s mission.

“I want to help those I work with make transformational changes in their lives,” said Tracy who has just launched a bespoke coaching consultancy in Galashiels.

The new service is an extension of the business – Tracy Archibald Associates – she started 18 months ago.

“Change comes to us all, so when there was a possibility my job as an NHS organisational change manager, which I had held for over 10 years, might disappear, I knew I had to take control of my own future,” explained Tracy, from Innerleithen.

“I decided going it alone was my best option and had a very busy first year coaching clients mainly in Edinburgh.”

Tracy’s conviction that the Borders presented an opportunity for expansion saw her attend a number of courses run by Selkirk-based advice service Business Gateway.

“That provide a brilliant sounding board, helping me harness my passion and fine tune my offering,” said Tracy. “It helped me understand the mechanics of a website and how best to position my business.

“Now that my business is established, my focus as a qualified coach is to extend my service throughout the Borders, providing local businesses and organisations with person-centred consultancy and training programmes which will help them become more resilient, focused and successful. This includes arming them with ways of thinking so that change, such as reorganisation, is less daunting for everyone involved.

“Working with businesses in all sectors, I want to help my clients maximise their greatest asset – their people.

“With one-to-one mentoring and individual programmes, I can uniquely provide them with the tools and techniques needed to change and develop their lives while achieving their transformational goals.”

Lyn Galloway of Business Gateway said Tracy was “highly regarded” in the business community.

“She understands the value of establishing, maintaining and expanding business networks and this has provided her with a steady flow of very satisfied clients.”
