A Borders care company which excelled during the pandemic is rewarded

A Melrose-based private home care provider has hit the UK number one spot for the quality of its service to older people.

Bright Care, which provides specialist support which allows the elderly to remain in the comfort of their own homes, has come number one in the UK’s Top Health & Social Care Companies To Work For 2021.

Curated by Best Companies, the employment engagement specialists, the award recognises the company’s efforts, particularly at the beginning of the pandemic, when it provided Covid-safe uniforms and equipment for more than 200 key workers.

With eight bases across the UK, it operates in the Scottish Borders from an office at 32 Market Square, Melrose, from where it covers all major towns and smaller villages such as Stow, Westruther, Clovenfords, Walkerburn, Lilliesleaf, Ancrum, Innerleithen, Yarrow, Eddleston, Denholm and Ettrickbridge.

On top of landing the Health & Social Care Sector award, Bright Care has come 10th in the Best Companies To Work for in Scotland 2021, and 20th overall in the UK.

The company was launched in 2009 by founder and managing director, Tim Cocking.
